The permanent rotating citizens' sit-in outside Rob Ford's office at Toronto City Hall takes place every day. Join us!
We're there -
Weekdays: 8:30 am to 9pm
Weekends: 10 am to 6 pm
Most holidays: 10 am to 6 pm
Day 24 of the sit-in was great and maintained a continuous presence from 8:30 am straight through to 9pm. Many new people came out and many dedicated veterans returned.
Day 25 begins today.
It's Saturday, so the sit-in will begin at 10:00 am and go until 6 pm. Come join us!
Day 23 of the sit-in was much more peaceful than Day 22; neither Ford brother made any appearance at City Hall, despite the fact that it was Toronto's 180th birthday. There was an official celebration on the main floor in which Deputy Mayor Kelly and several councillors cut and shared a large chocolate birthday cake with everyone present and also sang "Happy Birthday" to the city. The sit-in remained continuous and vibrant from 8:30 am until 9 pm with no gaps! Many new participants came out from all across the city - and from Hamilton! It was a fantastic, inspiring, empowering day.
Day 24 begins today.
It's Friday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. We have committed anchors signed up for the entire day. Come join them!
Day 22 was highly charged; a peaceful but electric kind of day. It felt in the morning like something was going to happen - and something did. Police chief Bill Blair announced that the Ontario Provincial Police are taking over oversight on the Project Brazen 2 investigation into Rob Ford. It's a huge development. Neither Ford brother seemed particularly happy about it.
Day 23 begins today.
It's Thursday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. Who knows what could happen! Will Rob Ford get arrested today? There's always that possibility. Regardless of whether he does or doesn't - he must go. Please come join the sit-in and show him that with your peaceful presence.
Day 21 was focused and intense. The Fords returned from LA. Media presence was much larger than normal. Participants in the sit-in calmly witnessed both Ford brothers attempt to spin Rob Ford's humiliating appearance on a late night US talk show as some kind of positive for Toronto. It wasn't.
Day 22 - the start of Week 4! - begins today.
It's Wednesday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
Day 20 was calm and beautiful. The Fords were still in Los Angeles. City Hall was functioning normally. Out of respect for the vigil for Ukraine taking place on the main floor in the evening, the sit-in ended early at 7:30 pm instead of 9 pm. It was inspiring to watch Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly speak on behalf of the City of Toronto at the vigil - a reminder of how an actual mayor should behave.
Day 21 - the final day of Week 3! - begins today.
It's Tuesday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. The Fords are back from their Hollywood sojourn today. Things may get intense. Your peaceful, calm, loving presence at the sit-in is so very needed!
Day 19 was another calm, Ford-free Sunday. Great discussions, great people, great love for Toronto, great determination to do what we can to help make this city better.
Day 20 begins today.
It's Monday, so the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. You are so very welcome to come join in!
Day 18 was great - a calm, Ford-free Saturday. During which we learned that all the Ford brothers are now in Los Angeles as guests of the Jimmy Kimmel show. And that Ford may possibly be attending the Oscars as Kimmels' guest. A head-shaking development and, on the surface, a grotesque step forward in the sad cultural process of normalizing and legitimizing the vile and reprehensible conduct of Rob Ford.
Day 19 begins today.
It's Sunday, so the sit-in will begin at 10:00 am and continue until 6 pm. If you're appalled by the latest development in the Ford debacle and want to do something - come join!
Day 17 was calm and beautiful - the Fords didn't show up at City Hall.
The sit-in had a large number of people both new and returning and experienced a new record for simultaneous participants - there were 14 of us there in the late morning! It was a fantastic day - another one where nobody wanted to leave. Thank you so much to everyone who joined in!
Day 18 begins today.
It's Saturday, so the sit-in will begin at 10:00 am and continue until 6 pm. Come join in - weekends at the sit-in are incredible! Peaceful, calm, no media - an excellent time to connect and converse and help create a beautiful Ford-free future!
Day 16 of the sit-in was intense. Amazing Toronto citizens and residents came out, new and returning... and the Ford brothers recklessly amped up their wholly vile and baseless attacks on police chief Bill Blair.
Day 17 begins today.
It's Friday, so the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. Come join in!
Day 15 of the sit-in - the start of Week 3! - saw the return of many dedicated Toronto citizens who've come back to the sit-in multiple times, along with a continuing influx of new participants. Another day of incredible conversations and connections as people join together to do their part to help create a Toronto in which Rob Ford and others like him are no longer possible.
Day 16 begins today.
It's Thursday, so the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and will continue until 9 pm. Come join in!
Day 14 of the sit-in - the end of Week 2! - continued in the same great spirit, maintaining its continuous peaceful presence all day. New buttons were created at the sit-in by Toby Lake, now featuring the website address. Conversations are starting to take off on our discussion forum!
Day 15 begins today.
The first day of Week 3! It's Wednesday, so the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and will remain peacefully until 9 pm. Come join in!
Day 13 of the sit-in was carried forward in the same vibrant spirit of love and truth and community by committed sitters Chris Logan, Ben Wert, Carol, and many others. Deepest and most profound gratitude and respect to all. Profiles section coming to the site soon! If you're able to join in committing to being at the sit-in for a block of time - you are so needed! You can use the "Sign Up!" link in the menu above to add your name and time to the schedule!
Day 14 begins today.
The final day of Week 2! It's Tuesday, so the sit-in at City Hall will begin at 8:30 am and will remain there in peace and honesty until 9 pm. Come join!
Day 12 of the sit-in was deeply transformative and inspiring and marks the last day that I (Chris Caple) was able to be there full time. Excellent people have been stepping up (and sitting down!) to keep a continuous presence at the sit-in. I'll drop in for a bit when I'm able, and I'll be doing a lot of work on this website over the coming days. If you're able to commit to being at the sit-in for a block of time - you are so needed! Please use the "Sign Up!" link to add your name and time to the schedule!
Day 13 begins today.
It's Monday, so the sit-in at City Hall will be starting at 8:30 am and will be there until 9 pm. Come join!
Day 11 of the sit-in saw equal parts returning sit-inners and new participants. Incredible conversation and connections and insights. Day 11 also saw us get our basic first pass at a discussion forum up on this site - please feel free to make use of it! There's a lot in the works, including improved scheduling system & RobFordMustGo.com stickers, signs, lawn signs, etc. Keep watching this space!
Day 12 begins today.
It's Sunday, so we'll be sitting-in at City Hall starting at 10 am and we'll be there until 6 pm. This weekend we're focusing on ensuring the sit-in is self-sustaining. Come out and join us!
