The Rob Ford Must Go sit-in started on February 12th, 2014, at 1pm directly across from then-mayor Rob Ford's office on the second floor at Toronto City Hall.
Exactly seven months later - on September 12th - Rob Ford withdrew from the mayoral race.
The Rob Ford Must Go sit-in then became the Doug Ford Must Go sit-in and continued through to 9pm on election day - October 27, 2014.
Altogether the sit-in, in both forms, lasted 258 days.
The sit-in's main communication tool was Twitter. The two main sit-in Twitter accounts are @robfordmustgo and @dougfordmustgo. Each contains many thousands of tweets and re-tweets comprising a blow-by-blow daily account of the final months of the debacle co-mayoralty of the Ford brothers.
We also created a simple Doug Ford Must Go website at www.dougfordmustgo.com.
Massive, massive gratitude to everyone who participated in person and online. Keep being the Toronto you want to live in.
