Day 63 begins today.

It's Tuesday; the sit-in will be active from 8:30am until 9pm today. Things have been unusually quiet at City Hall since last Friday. We dig it. If you've been looking for a way to demonstrate how determined you are to see Rob Ford no longer in office - the Rob Ford Must Go sit-in is an excellent opportunity to do just that.

Monday, April 14, 2014

Day 61 was a great Sunday at city hall with lively discussions and new participants!

Day 62 begins today.

It's Monday; the sit-in will be active from 8:30am until 9pm today. It's time to begin working out the logistics of how to turn RobFordMustGo into a citywide campaign in addition to the core sit-in. Come join in and add your thoughts and energy and love for all that's good about this city!

Sunday, April 13, 2014

Day 60 begins today.

It's Saturday; the sit-in will be active from 10:00am until 6pm today. Looks likely to be a really calm, relaxed, quiet, enjoyable Saturday outside the mayor's office. Come join in to peacefully resist the vile and amoral conduct of Rob Ford and to share your vision and hope for a better Toronto.

Friday, April 11, 2014

Day 58 - federal finance minister Jim Flaherty, a close personal friend of the Ford family, died suddenly of a massive heart attack yesterday.

Day 59 begins today.

It's Friday; the sit-in will be active from 9:00am until 9pm today. Come join in!

Thursday, April 10, 2014

Day 57 - it was International Day of Pink, "the International Day against Bullying, Discrimination, Homophobia and Transphobia in schools and communities." (http://www.dayofpink.org) Toronto's bully and bigot in chief remains, beyond all morality and ethics and basic human decency, in office. The sit-in stayed strong and continuous all day, calmly representing the values most people in Toronto hold dear and which the Ford brothers maliciously trample over every day.

Day 58 begins today.

It's Thursday; the sit-in will be active from 9:00am until 9pm today. Come join in! Your calm, peaceful, mindful presence is so welcome, wanted, and needed!

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Day 56 - 10,000 unwanted easter eggs, a disgraced Olympian and a minor supporting player in Trailer Park Boys seemingly joining Rob Ford's campaign team but then later clarified as just dropping by to express support, Doug ranting about internet conspiracies... fairly standard weekday at city hall in the waning days of the Rob Ford era.

Day 57 begins today.

It's Wednesday; the sit-in will be active from 8:30am until 9pm today. Come join in to keep the peace and for excellent discussions about the past, present, and future of Toronto with deeply caring fellow citizens and residents.

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

Day 55 was a fairly typically demented Monday at city hall. Rob Ford refused to answer questions about ongoing drug use, Doug Ford minimized his brother's deplorable conduct and hammered on deeply dishonest talking points; the usual. The sit-in remained calm, peaceful, and present throughout the entire day, compassionately and mindfully witnessing the ongoing implosion of shame and disgrace that is the Ford brothers' political existence.

Day 56 begins today.

It's Tuesday; the sit-in will be active from 8:30am until 9pm today. Your kindness, goodness, mindfulness, decency, integrity, honesty, and peace are all needed - come join in! A few minutes or a few hours - any length of time you're able to participate is deeply appreciated!

Monday, April 7, 2014

Day 54 was an exceptionally calm, peaceful Sunday at city hall. A most excellent sit-in was had by all.

Day 55 begins today.

It's Monday; the sit-in will be active from 8:30am until 9pm. You are so unendingly welcome to come join in. For a few minutes or a few hours - every effort counts!

Sunday, April 6, 2014

Day 53 - an excellent Saturday, excellent people, excellent discussions, as always. Rob Ford showed up alone at his office just before 5pm wearing a Leafs jersey. To the best of our knowledge there was nobody else in the office. As the sit-in was packing up to leave at 6pm, Ford emerged to greet councillor Frank Di Giorgio, with whom he had plans to take in the Leafs game. Later that night... http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014/04/05/belligerent_rob_ford_warned_b...

Day 54 begins today.

It's Sunday; the sit-in will be active from 10am until 6pm. We have no clue what's going to happen today, but we'll be there. Come join!

Saturday, April 5, 2014

Day 52 - Rob Ford was happier than we've ever seen him at the sit-in. He obviously felt completely vindicated, free and clear, and like he'd gotten away with everything. He ambled around with a giant smile, wearing a Jays jersey, gabbing with the media, and looking like the proverbial cat that caught the canary.

Day 53 begins today.

It's Saturday; the sit-in will be active from 10am until 6pm - come join!

Friday, April 4, 2014

Day 51 was a little tumultuous. A new sit-in participant didn't quite understand the peaceful nature of the sit-in and heckled the Fords and a councillor during a scrum. That's never happened before - and it won't happen again. We apologize for that lapse. We are taking steps to improve our communications and messaging and guidelines so that it doesn't happen again. The sit-in does not and cannot work unless all of its participants consciously adhere to its kind, loving, peaceful spirit. We're there to be the opposite of the Fords. We're there to demonstrate the kind of civil, open, inclusive, accepting, creative, compassionate, intelligent, decent, and truly good city we want to live in.

Oh and also news broke that the Ontario Provincial Police and the Toronto Police are at odds over the Brazen 2 investigation so it looks like Rob Ford may once again skate by with zero consequences. Until he's completely crushed in the election.

Day 52 begins today.

It's Friday; the sit-in will be active from 9 am until 9 pm! If you're able to maintain calmness, kindness, peace, and love in a chaotic and highly charged media circus atmosphere - come join!

Thursday, April 3, 2014

Day 50 - our 50th continuous day of the sit-in! - was great!

Day 51 begins today.

Thursday, March 27, 2014

Day 43 was another excellent day at the sit-in. The first official televised debate of the campaign took place at CityNews at 5pm. Rob Ford, as expected, lied continuously, loudly, and confidently, successfully dragging the debate down to his amoral level.

Day 44 begins today.

It's Thursday; we'll be there from 8:30am until 9pm today! Come sit-in for truth, honesty, decency, integrity, and to help end the reign of this cartoon villain.

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

Day 42 was another great day. The evening was unusually active due to the lengthy executive committee meeting about the highly controversial proposed island airport expansion. We spoke with many councillors as they went back and forth to the council chambers throughout the day and evening. In particular we spoke with Councillor Pam McConnell, who angrily related her experience of being grossly verbally and physically intimidated by Rob Ford earlier in the day during the meeting.

Day 43 begins today.

It's Wednesday; we'll be there from 8:30am until 9pm today! You really, really never know what's going to happen. Your love, peace, kindness, goodness, decency, and integrity are needed at the sit-in - come join in for any length of time you're able! Even if it's only for 15 minutes - your presence is so welcome and wanted!

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

Day 41 was a very active Monday at CIty Hall. New information was released by the courts showing that Toronto Police started reviewing over 10 GB of audio and video content from Sandro Lisi's iPhone on March 7 - which isn't very long ago. The Project Brazen 2 investigation into potential criminal activities of Rob Ford is still very much an active investigation. Is an arrest impending? Time will tell.

Day 42 begins today.

It's Tuesday; we'll be there from 8:30am until 9pm today! You never know what's going to happen. Come bring all your peace, love, kindness, compassion, understanding, patience, integrity, decency, and goodness and join in!

It's Sunday; we'll be there from 10am until 6pm today! We're chilling out and having a relaxed celebration of the 40th continuous day of the sit-in - come join!

Saturday, March 22, 2014

Day 38 was another fascinating sit-in day joined and kept vibrant by so many great Torontonians. Learned a large amount of new information. Laying groundwork to take RFMG campaign to next level.

Day 39 begins today.

It's Saturday; we'll be there from 10am until 6pm today! We're making new media-friendly camera-background signs today! Come join in the fun!

Friday, March 21, 2014

Day 37 saw a strong sit-in presence throughout the day. We started doing something new - holding up signs in the background when media cameras were trained on the Fords. We held up signs saying "RESIGN" whenever Rob was going back and forth from the office ignoring media questions, and we held up a "LIES" sign behind Doug when he was scrumming. It was interesting. Doug also made an odd and kind of clumsy attempt - when no media were around - to compliment/intimidate the sit-in. He seems generally rattled. Peace and love to you Doug! - please reconsider your way of being in the world! Drop the lies! Embrace honesty!

Day 38 begins today.

It's Friday; our morning anchor can't get there until 9, so the sit-in will begin at 9 am today and go until 9 pm. Come join in if you can, anytime throughout the day! Your kindness, peace, love, goodness - and signs! - are much needed!

Thursday, March 20, 2014

Day 36 saw the release of new ITO information in the morning and a level of media activity at City Hall that hasn't been seen since November. It was... a ridiculous day. Rob Ford led the media on a foot chase from Nathan Phillips Square through City Hall up to his office, smashing over reporters and generally behaving even more like a maniac than usual.

Day 37 begins today.

It's Thursday, so the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and go until 9 pm. Media presence is likely to be heavy again today; no telling what'll happen. Your love and peace and goodness are much needed!

We're doing something new today - experimenting with Facebook Events to draw out a much, much bigger crowd from 11am to 2pm - https://www.facebook.com/events/564411740323799/

Monday, March 17, 2014

Day 34 begins today.

It's Monday, so the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and go until 9 pm. Rob Ford was recorded on video seemingly intoxicated in front of City Hall late Saturday night. Sit-in participants saw him enter his office shortly after 5pm - highly unusual.

CTV News broadcast the video yesterday. There's likely to be a large media presence at City Hall today. If you can come join in and bring calmness, peace, love, truth, decency, and integrity to a situation that continues to devolve - please come.

Friday, March 7, 2014

7:09 am

Day 23 of the sit-in was much more peaceful than Day 22; neither Ford brother made any appearance at City Hall, despite the fact that it was Toronto's 180th birthday. There was an official celebration on the main floor in which Deputy Mayor Kelly and several councillors cut and shared a large chocolate birthday cake with everyone present and also sang "Happy Birthday" to the city. The sit-in remained continuous and vibrant from 8:30 am until 9 pm with no gaps! Many new participants came out from all across the city - and from Hamilton! It was a fantastic, inspiring, empowering day.

Day 24 begins today.

It's Friday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. We have committed anchors signed up for the entire day. Come join them!

Thursday, March 6, 2014

7:42 am

Day 22 was highly charged; a peaceful but electric kind of day. It felt in the morning like something was going to happen - and something did. Police chief Bill Blair announced that the Ontario Provincial Police are taking over oversight on the Project Brazen 2 investigation into Rob Ford. It's a huge development. Neither Ford brother seemed particularly happy about it.

Day 23 begins today.

It's Thursday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. Who knows what could happen! Will Rob Ford get arrested today? There's always that possibility. Regardless of whether he does or doesn't - he must go. Please come join the sit-in and show him that with your peaceful presence.

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

7:05 am

Day 21 was focused and intense. The Fords returned from LA. Media presence was much larger than normal. Participants in the sit-in calmly witnessed both Ford brothers attempt to spin Rob Ford's humiliating appearance on a late night US talk show as some kind of positive for Toronto. It wasn't.

Day 22 - the start of Week 4! - begins today.

It's Wednesday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tuesday, March 4, 2014

6:47 am

Day 20 was calm and beautiful. The Fords were still in Los Angeles. City Hall was functioning normally. Out of respect for the vigil for Ukraine taking place on the main floor in the evening, the sit-in ended early at 7:30 pm instead of 9 pm. It was inspiring to watch Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly speak on behalf of the City of Toronto at the vigil - a reminder of how an actual mayor should behave.

Day 21 - the final day of Week 3! - begins today.

It's Tuesday; the sit-in will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 9 pm. The Fords are back from their Hollywood sojourn today. Things may get intense. Your peaceful, calm, loving presence at the sit-in is so very needed!

Sunday, March 2, 2014

8:32 am

Day 18 was great - a calm, Ford-free Saturday. During which we learned that all the Ford brothers are now in Los Angeles as guests of the Jimmy Kimmel show. And that Ford may possibly be attending the Oscars as Kimmels' guest. A head-shaking development and, on the surface, a grotesque step forward in the sad cultural process of normalizing and legitimizing the vile and reprehensible conduct of Rob Ford.

Day 19 begins today.

It's Sunday, so the sit-in will begin at 10:00 am and continue until 6 pm. If you're appalled by the latest development in the Ford debacle and want to do something - come join!

Friday, February 28, 2014
